Injection Molding Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

This position is responsible for:
Ensuring that injection molding manufacturing equipment and machinery operates properly includes maintaining automated manufacturing equipment, locating replacement parts, and performing emergency repairs.
Responsibilities include the repair and maintenance of robotic, PLC based assembly equipment that includes injection molding machine.
Responsible for organizing routine equipment checks, maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance programs and schedules in addition to resolving faults as they occur.
Develop preventative and predictive maintenance programs that use root cause analysis to eliminate or reduce downtime.

Roles and Responsibilities

Follow and improve the effectiveness of health and safety policies and procedures and safety standards.
Develop strategies, policies, procedures, and methods for equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and respond to equipment failures.
Troubleshoot breakdown issues and analyze failures to determine root cause.
Verify that equipment is operating properly.
Conduct quality inspections on jobs performed by maintenance techs.
Communicate and coordinate maintenance activities with production and engineering.
Arrange for the procurement of specialty fixtures, fittings, and components.
Maintain control over maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
Respond to emergencies, unanticipated problems, and repairs.
Establish a schedule for routine maintenance.
Maintain records of costs, incidents, and procedures associated with maintenance and repair.
Conduct time-based maintenance following established repair schedules.
Develop resource-saving maintenance strategies.
Collaborate with a variety of maintenance stakeholders to ensure that equipment is operating at peak performance.
Utilize performance tracking software, IoT, and tools to identify potential equipment failure areas or causes.
Conduct real-time monitoring to ascertain the health and functionality of assets.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Electrical of Mechanical Engineering preferred.
5 years minimum in injection molding machine maintenance engineering in manufacturing environment.
3 years minimum experience in Automotive manufacturing environment
5 years minimum experience in maintenance of injection molding equipment an automated manufacturing equipment
Strong analytical skill
Knowledgeable and experienced in robotics, vision systems, and PLC based equipment.
Proficient in successfully leading multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrated ability to meet project goals on-time and within budget.
Proficiency in developing mid-/long-term quality improvement strategies aligned with company's goals and policies.
Effective interpersonal and communications skills, group leadership skills, and personnel development and training skills.
Microsoft office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Bend or Twist body
Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
lift objects up to 45 lbs.
Walk frequently and short runs in case of emergencies.
Able to work in hot and humid conditions.

Manufacturing plant environment.

Will need to operate plant equipment.
