Electrical Engineer

Location: San Antonio, TX - On site at the Toyota Campus on Applewhite Road

Position Summary:

Toyoda Gosei, a Tier One supplier to Toyota, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, including switchgear, power distribution, and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) integration within our production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical engineering, ensuring system reliability, safety, and efficiency in alignment with Toyota Production System (TPS) principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize electrical power distribution systems, including switchgear and circuit protection.

• Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment within a manufacturing environment.

• Support the integration of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) components into production processes and equipment.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, production, and quality, to resolve electrical and automation issues.

• Ensure compliance with Toyota Production System (TPS) principles, NFPA standards, and OSHA electrical safety regulations.

• Assist in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of new or upgraded electrical equipment.

• Develop and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation to support manufacturing operations.

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

• Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel on electrical systems and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive or Tier One supplier industry.

• Strong knowledge of switchgear, power distribution, circuit protection, and industrial electrical systems.

• Experience with PCB design, troubleshooting, and integration is a plus.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN for electrical design and documentation.

• Familiarity with PLC systems, automation controls, and industrial networking preferred.

• Knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS), Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen principles is highly desirable.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
